Item value.
Why do I need an appraisal !
1. Insurance - Theft, loss due to stones falling out or damage
2. New Purchase - Determine the value.
3. Future identification - Appraisal guarantees against
switching when being repaired. Accurate damage assessment when based on
the original condition. Professional Jewelry Appraisals are "legal
documents" showing the items actually exist, for you, and your
heirs.
4. Estates - Fair market value for tax liability. Used for
equitable division of inherited jewelry
5. Divorce - To determine fair market value for division of
property
Certification and Appraisals are available by
our GIA Graduate Gemologist and our store lab/computer facility
No guess work appraisals: We obtain exact
measurements directly from your jewelry and compare the results to a
large data base to determine value. Appraisal data base is obtained from
a independent national clearing house subscription service that issue
updates every 3 months.
Our lab certifies your gem down to it's mineral type. We report your
gold content from 8k to 22k on our state of the art digital gold tester.
We use the finest lab equipment and computer software to generate a
professional appraisal. They are acceptable by insurance companies and
contain detailed information about your jewelry and photos. Laser
inscription is a separately priced service. AJS can provide you with
replacement, and cash appraisals - Starting at $80.
GIA
lab - Certifications only - specializes in loose Diamonds, charges vary
by size of gem. AGTA - Certifications - loose diamonds - Specializes
in color gem stones, and for an additional charge "origin" -
GIA and AGTA appraisals vary from $200 and up postage and
insurance additional.
